Canon Pony Sizes Confirmed!

I was just chatting with about the fact we have a confirmed height for ponies now. However, the clip from the Friendship game blooper reel isn't easy to work with. So, here's my process for getting them accurately side by side.




So, as in the thumb here, they're together. Which is great. But you can't really compare heights. So, the limbs are all bent and may not be accurate. That's a problem. However, the heads never change. What I did next was overlay a normal standing reference over each until the head size matched up.


Like so. Unsurprisingly, the feet didn't line up. So let's fix that.


And, Wyola! Accurate pony to equestria girl size comparison.

Out of curiosity, I went and checked it against Naz's life-sized Dash, which she worked out with the bunny method. (The use of Angel in EQG and FIM to compare) And she's a touch big, assuming Dash's torso is accurate to human proportions (A question for another day.)




(She made Dashie's hair a bit poofier and the angle is obviously different, so I'm just going with the head size of dash.)



It's very close! Actually, let's switch that up so we're looking at it by Dashie's shoulders to Naz's, as I don't think those chibi heads are the best ref. I'll also spare a touch because Dashie is a animated character, and thus anorexic.


Here's about size of her Dash in comparison to the EQG model:





Close enough to be remarkable, for sure. Again, the plush and photo's belong to  ,If anyone wants to try and figure out the actual numerical heights from this, please let me know, as I'm curious.

By my estimate, if human Dash is 5'5", FIM Dash might be around 2'8"'. Or 32 inches, or 81.23 CM.

Be aware, these are estimates. I need to find a object with a known height in Equestria Girls before I can get a exact answer. Does anyone have one off the top of their heads?

Okay, so I decided to go with a soccer ball, witch has a average diameter of 22 CM.

So, first thing to do was get that soccer ball compared to Dash.



Then make ourselves a ruler out of it.

Pardon my crap handwriting, didn't feel like getting my tablet out for this.

So, then we measure it up against the models.





Unsurprisingly, it isn't perfect. So, here's a bit of how I worked out the spare height. Measuring it against the 22 Cm ruler. The spare on FimDash was half, making it 11 Cm. On EQG Dash it was a fifth, making it 4.4.

So, assuming the soccer ball is 22 CM, we have our height in CM!


So pony Dash, hoof to ear is 77 CM/ a bit over 2.5 , or 30.3 inches. 

Human Dash is 136.4 CM, 4.48 Feet, or 53.7 inches.



Edit 2: (Tia and Luna)


Alright, since it's easier to find a picture of Celestia with Twi, let's first establish that her and Dash are the same height. (Pre-alicorn.) Seems common sense, but best to check anyway.




Easy enough.

Alright, so we now know Twi is also about 77 CM and shares Dash's head size. Now let's compare her to her majesty Sunbutt.

Let's match Dashie's body to Twi's now to get our rulers in working order.



Twi is looking up, I'm going to be treating Dash as a 'at ease' height. We can see from this that Tia, without her horn, is about 136 CM again.



Tia is 165 CM.


Now, Lu. I think you've seen my process enough that I don't have to describe every step this time.





Lu is 121 CM.
